Example 27; 3-Propoxy-iV-l6-(3-pyridin-3-yl-5-trifluoromethyl-pyrazol-l-yl)- py ridin-3-yl] -benzamide; 3-Benzyloxyl-benzoic acid (460 mg, 2 mmol), prepared according to J. Chem. Soc. 1943, 430, is dissolved in dichloromethane (10 mL) and oxalyl chloride (1.5 iriL of a 2 M solution in dichloromethane, 3 mmol), and catalytic amounts of dimethylformamide are added. The solution is stirred for 1 hour after which all volatiles are evaporated. The residue is dried under high vacuum for three hours and the resulting product, 3- benzyloxyl-benzoyl chloride (490 mg, 100%), is used without further purification.
