General procedure: To a solution of p-methoxybenzyl ether (0.366 mmol) in anhydrousCH2Cl2 (3 mL) was added H-mont (260 mg). Thereaction mixture was stirred at room temperature until theTLC indicated the consumption of the starting material. Themixture was filtered to remove H-mont. The filtrate was evaporatedunder reduced pressure. The residue was purified by flashchromatography (petroleum ether/ethyl acetate 20:1 to 1:1) togive the product. Following the procedure, 24a-h were prepared.
