6-Bromo-2(1 /-/)-quinolinone. The solution of the compound from Example 6 a) (6.0 g, 22.2 mmol) in concentrated H2SO4 (30 mL) was heated in 100 0C EPO overnight. The mixture was cooled to ambient temperature and quenched with ice water. The precipitate was filtered, washed with water and dried in vacuo to afford the title compound as a white solid (4.8 g, 97%). MS(ES+) m/e 225 [M+H]+.
