General procedure for the synthesis of 4-substituted daphnetin derivatives (2-6)
General procedure: Perchloric acid (5.0 mL)was added drop-wise at room temperature to a mixture of 1,2,3-phenenyl triacetate (5.0 mmol) andthe correctly substituted b-ketoester (10.0 mmol) and stirred for 6-8 h. After TLC analysis indicatedthat the reaction was complete, the reaction mixture was slowly poured into a mixture of ice water(100 mL) with stirring. The resultant suspension was filtered, and the collected solid was washedwith water and dried; the crude compound was recrystallized from methanol to produce the desiredcompound [30].
