Synthesis of 4-allyl-5-pyridin-4-yl-2,4-dihydro-3H-1,2,4-triazole-3-thione (III)
A stirring mixture of compound (II) (10 mmole, 2.36 g.) and sodium hydroxide (40 mg, 1 mmole, as a 2 N solution) was refluxed for 8 h. After cooling, the solution was acidified with hydrochloric acid and the precipitate was filtered. The precipitate was then crystallized from A mixture of ethanole-dioxane (4:1). Yield: 80%; m.p. 222-224 °C, IR υ (cm-1): 3251-3205 (NH), 3110-3060 (ArCH), 1624 (CN), 1258 (CS), 975-910 (HCCH2), 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6, ppm): δ 4.08 (t, 2H, J = 5.49, NCH2CH), 4.83 (dd, 1H, Jtrans = 17.23, 1,10, NCH2CHCH2), 5.12 (dd, 1H, Jcis = 9.33, 1,10, NCH2CHCH2), 5.80 (dq, 1H, J = 9.90, 5.13, NCH2CHCH2), 7.88 (dd, 2H, J = 6.23, 1.83, Ar. CCH), 8.74 (dd, 2H, J = 5.87, 1.47, Ar. NCH), 10.44 (br, 1H, NH). 13C NMR (100 MHz, DMSO-d6, ppm): 168.91, 151.17, 149.92, 134.12, 132.36, 122.85, 118.00, 46.67.
