EXAMPLE 1 16.2 Grams of powdery magnesium (purity 99.5%) was dispersed in 66.2 ml of tetrahydrofuran. A solution obtained by dissolving 150.6 g of 1-bromo-3,5-dichlorobenzene in 132.4 ml of tetrahydrofuran was added dropwise to the dispersion heated at 30° C. and after the addition, the mixture was stirred at the same temperature for 2 hours to react them whereby 3,5-dichlorophenylmagnesium bromide was produced.
