EXAMPLE 3 Preparation of Tetrabromo-p-xylidene diacrylate To a 250 ml three-necked flask, equipped with a mechanical stirrer, a condenser and a thermometer there were added 80 gr. of toluene, 5 gr. KOH (95%, 0.09M), and 6.2 gr. acrylic acid (0.09 mole). The mixture is stirred for about half an hour at 30° C. to obtain the potassium salt of acrylic acid.
