Synthesis Example 21 Synthesis of diethylaminoacetonitrile (Amine 21) At 0° C., 12.0 g of bromoacetonitrile was added to 14.6 g of diethylamine. The mixture was heated to 20° C. over 10 hours. Ethyl acetate was added to the reaction mixture, and the resulting solids were filtered off. Distillation yielded diethylaminoacetonitrile (boiling point: 170° C., yield: 90%). IR (thin film): ν=2976, 2222, 1461, 1389, 1322, 1206, 1093, 984 cm-1 13C-NMR (75 MHz in CDCl3): δ=12.6, 40.5, 47.9, 114.8
