Step 3 Production of 6-trifluoromethyl-4H-benzo[1,4]oxazin-3-one 2-Chloro-N-(2-hydroxy-5-trifluoromethylphenyl)acetamide (1.4244 g) was dissolved in N,N-dimethylformamide (14 mL), and potassium carbonate (1.0072 g) was added at room temperature. After stirring at room temperature for 2 hrs, water (20 mL) was added, and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The obtained ethyl acetate layer was washed with water and saturated brine, and dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The solvent was evaporated to give the title compound (1.2084 g) as a pale-gray solid.
