Production of Isocyanate by Thermal Decomposition of N-Substituted Carbamic AcidEster An isocyanate was produced using the apparatus shown in FIG. 2. The thin film distillationapparatus 202 having a heat transfer area of 0.1 m was heated to 220 ° C., and thepressure inside the thin film distillation apparatus was set to about 1.3 kPa. The reaction solutionrecovered in the storage tank 105 in the step (4 - 1) was charged into the storage tank 201 andsupplied to the thin film distillation apparatus 202 at about 1.8 kg / Hr via the line 20. The liquidcomponent was withdrawn from the line 22 provided at the bottom of the thin film distillationapparatus 202 and collected in the storage tank 203. A gas component containinghexamethylene diisocyanate and 4- (1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl) phenol was withdrawn from a line21 provided at the top of the thin film distillation apparatus 202.The gas component was introduced into the distillation column 204, and hexamethylenediisocyanate and 4- (1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl) phenol were separated by distillation. A part of thehigh-boiling component containing 4- (1,1,3,3-tetramethylbutyl) phenol is returned to thestorage tank 203 via a line 26 provided at the bottom of the distillation column 204, and a partof the high boiling component is reboiled in the reboiler 208 To the distillation tower 204 again,and the remainder was recovered in the storage tank 209. A gas phase component containinghexamethylene diisocyanate was withdrawn from the top of the distillation column 204 via a line 24 and condensed in a condenser 205, and a part of the condensate was returned to thedistillation column 204. In the storage tank 207, condensate containing hexamethylenediisocyanate was obtained. The yield based on 1,6-hexamethylenediamine was about 83%.
