Reaction Conditions:

Stage #1: Triphenylvinyl bromide;4-formylphenylboronic acid,with tetrabutylammomium bromide;potassium carbonate in water;toluene at 20; for 0.5 h;Inert atmosphere;
Stage #2: with tetrakis(triphenylphosphine) palladium⁽⁰⁾ in water;toluene at 90; for 24 h;

Steps:

1.2 Synthesis of Intermediate tetraphenylethylenealdehyde

under an Ar atmosphere bromotriphenylethene (6.70 g, 20 mmol) and p-formylphenylboronic acid (4.50 g, 30 mmol) were added to three necked flask then add toluene 80mL, 2mol / L potassium carbonate aqueous solution 25mL, Tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) (0.64 g, 2.0 mmol) was added and after stirring at room temperature for half an hour. Pd(PPh3)4 (0.020 g, 1.74 X 10-2 mmol) and heated to 90 ° C for 24 h. The reaction was then poured into water, extracted three times with ethyl acetate, the organic layer was dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, the solvent was removed by rotary evaporation under reduced pressure, silica gel column chromatography was used for purification, eluent volume ratio 1: 2 methylene chloride and n-hexane solvent mixture.The product was 7.00g, 97% yield.
