2-amino-3-benzyloxy-iV-tert-butoxycarbonyl-propionic acid methyl ester from above was dissolved in EtOAc (1 mL), 4 N HCl in dioxane (1 mL, 4 mmol) was added. After 2 h at room temperature the solvent was removed and the residue was treated with ether and dried to give 2-amino-3-benzyloxy-propionic acid methyl ester hydrochloride (260 mg, 92%). MS(ES) m/z 209.9 (MH⁺); MS cald: 209.11 (M)
