Murepavadin is a novel antibiotic peptide that targets the outer membrane protein of Gram negative bacteria. The sequence contains a large number of basic amino acids, including 14 amino acids, targeting lipopolysaccharide transporter D (LptD). Murepavadin can be used to treat hospital pneumonia and is currently in phase III of a clinical trial.
