化學(xué)性質(zhì)
帶綠色光澤的晶體，磨碎后為紅棕色粉末。易溶于醇及稀氫氧化鈉溶液，微溶于水。用途
酸堿提示劑。用20%乙醇配成0.1%溶液或0.04%水溶液（取0.04g該品溶于1.05ml0.1MNaOH溶液），再稀釋至100ml。pH變色范圍：7.2（黃）-8.8（紫紅）；2.0（紅）-3.0（琥珀色）。用途
酸堿指示劑。生產(chǎn)方法
將苯甲磺酸酐、鄰甲酚、無(wú)水氯化鋅混和，攪拌加熱，在115-120℃縮合反應(yīng)約7h，通水蒸氣趕凈剩余的鄰甲酚。過(guò)濾，濾餅用熱碳酸鈉水溶液溶解，過(guò)濾，在清亮濾液中加1：1鹽酸中和，劇烈攪拌。濾出結(jié)晶，用少量水洗滌，干燥，得成品。必要時(shí)可用冰醋酸重結(jié)晶提純。安全信息

| 毒性 | A potent lacrimator which is chemically stable and retains its irritancy in water and so can be used in liquid jets in personnel control. In addition to lacrimation, it causes eye pain, blepharospasm, eyelid swelling, irritation of the conjunctiva, a rise in intraocular pressure, and erythema of the skin. Because it can be used in water, its use is less affected by changes in climatic conditions. It is a more potent lacrimator than CS but it is less potent in lethality than CS. |
