TEMPO, polymer-bound (PS-TEMPO) has been synthesized via nitroxide catalyzed radical polymerization of styrene. TEMPO end-capped polystyrene (PS-TEMPO) copolymers have been synthesized for the modification of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs). Synthesis of PS-TEMPO from polystyrene, benzoyl peroxide and TEMPO has been reported.
