Beschreibung

This alkaloid occurs in Rhazya stricta and also in Vinca minor Decaisne. From aqueous EtOH it crystallizes as the monohydrate with m.p. 80-3°C. It has [α]24D+ 103° and gives an ultraviolet spectrum consisting of two absorption maxima at 213 and 262 mfJ.. A methoxycarbonyl group and an alkyl groups are present.
