Hydroprene [ethyl (E,E)-(R,S)-3,7,11-trimethyldodeca-2,4-dienoate] is structurally very closely related to methoprene. It also is an insect juvenile hormone mimic and, when applied to larvae, prevents metamorphosis to viable adult stages.
