Radium Iodate can be prepared by the reaction of iodic acid upon the hydroxide of radium:
Ra(OH)2 ＋HIO3→Ra(IO3)2 ＋CO2＋H2O
It occurs as the monohydrate with a solubility product of 1.16×10^-9. Its solubility in water is 0.04 g/100 ml at 20°C. Little use has been found by Industry and it is not offered for sale commercially.
