A nucleotide of nicotinic acid which is produced from quinolinic acid by quinolinate phosphoribosyltransferase via transfer of a phosphoribose group. Nicotinate mononucleotide is a substrate for NMN/NaMN adenylyltransferase (NMNAT) and nicotinate mononucleotide adenylyltransferase.
