8 Preparation of polymer 23
Preparation of polymer 23 Monomer 22 (460 mg, 1.44 mmol) and acrylamide (511 mg, 7.21 mmol) were dissolved in 4 mL of pure water and the solution was purged with nitrogen. Then, 5 mg of V-50 initiator was added and the solution was heated to 60° C. The solution became viscous within 30 minutes and heating was stopped. After 24 h, the viscous solution was added to isopropanol dropwise. The polymer was precipitated as a white mass which was filtered and dried in vacuum at room temperature for 48 h. The polymer was obtained as a white solid (640 mg) in 66% yield.
