2.2.4. General procedure for the synthesis of compounds (5a-n)
General procedure: Quantified amounts of alkyl/aryl amines ( 4a-n , 0.01 mol) were added separately in a quick-fit Erlenmeyer flask already hav- ing 20% aqueous Na 2 CO 3 solution to set the pH 9-10. The 2- bromopropionyl bromide (0.01 mol) was added slowly and drop- wise into the flask over 2-5 min with continuous vigorous shak- ing till the formation of precipitates followed by stirring in or- der to get homogenous precipitates for further 1-2 hrs. The solid product was filtered, washed with cold water and dried to get the respective electrophile(s), N -alky/ N -aryl substituted-2- bromopropionamides ( 5a-n ).
