To a solution of 1-methylpiperidine-2-carboxamide (600mg, 0.70mmol, 1.0eq) was added LiAIH4 (1M, 12.6ml_, 3. Oeq) at 0°C and the mixture was stirred at 50°C under N2 overnight. The reaction was quenched with a minimum amount of water, dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by column chromatography to give 1-methylpiperidine-2- carboxamide; (170mg, 31%).UPLC-MS (ES+, Method C): 0.34 min, m/z 129.2 [M+H]+
