Steps:
1.1 Step 1
To a mixed solution of 5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-2-amine (835 mg, 5.15 mmol) in 1,2-dimethoxyethane (12.9 mL) and methanol (12.9 mL) was added ethyl bromopyruvate (776 μL, 6.18 mmol), and the mixture was stirred for 14 hours at 80°C. After concentrating the reaction solution under reduced pressure, the residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography to give ethyl 6-(trifluoromethyl)imidazo[1,2-a]pyridine-2-carboxylate (amount 557 mg, yield 42%).
