5.2 General procedure for the synthesis of compounds 4a-4o

General procedure: Catalyst 1 (3mol%), esters (0.5mmol, 1 equiv.), and corresponding HBpin (1.0mmol, 2 equiv.) were placed in a 25mL Schlenk flask equipped with a magnetic stir bar inside the glove box. Then the reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature for six hours. The progress of the reaction was monitored by ¹H NMR, based on the internal standard, HMB (10mol%). In all cases, yields were calculated based on isolated yields.
