3 Example 3: The synthesis of compound (2)
[0099] At 0°C, oxalyl chloride (2.52 g, 0.02 mol) in dichloromethane (10 mL) is added dropwise into a suspension of2-chloro-thiazole-5-carboxylic acid (1.64 g, 0.01 mol) and N,N-dimethyl formamide (DMF) (1 drop) in dichloromethane(10 mL), and the mixture is stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture is evaporated under vacuum,and then the trace amount of oxalyl chloride is removed twice with additional dichloromethane (100 mL) azeotropicmixture to give compound (2-4) (1.82 g, 100%).
