4-Bromo-3,5-difluoro-phenylamine (5 g, 24.02 mmol) was treated with acetic anhydride (2.26 ml, 24.02 mmol) at 0 °C for 30 mins. After completion of the reaction as ensured from TLC, the reaction mixture was poured in ice water, the precipitated solids were filtered off and were washed washed thoroughly with water to afford N-(4- bromo-3,5-difluorophenyl)acetamide (5.3 g, 88%) as a solid
