3 The synthesis of 5,6-dimethoxyindolin-2-one (0089-4).
To a solution of 0089-3 (2.5 g, 9.3 mmol) in EtOH (15 mL) was added Pd/C (10%, 250 mg), the mixture was stirred at rt for o/n under Eh atmosphere (1.0 atm). The mixture was filtered and concentrated in vacuo to give yellow oil. To the oil was added AcOH as solvent (30 mL) and he mixture was stirred at 100 °C for o/n. Then concentrated in vacuo to give crude product, which was purified by pre-HPLC to afford compound 0089-4 (950 mg, 53%) as a yellow solid.
