[Example 27]; 0.1 mmol of water-soluble acetylene dicarboxylic acids whose R1 is C6H5 and R2 is H in Fig. 1(a) was mixed with 2 mL of aqueous solution containing 1.0 μmol of ruthenium trichloride, and the mixture was reacted at the pH 4.5 at 100°C under argon atmosphere for 24 hours. The resulting reaction mixture was condensed to give a product. The product was analyzed by 1H NMR.
