4.2.2 Preparation of 4

Compound 3 (18.47g, 56.38mmol) was dissolved in dry dichloromethane (150mL), and pyridinium chlorochromate (15.80g, 73.29mmol) was added under nitrogen protection. The system was stirred at room temperature for 1.5h. The mixture was filtered by celite and washed with dichloromethane. The organic layers were combined, washed with saturated sodium bicarbonate and saturated brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate. The organic layer was evaporated and the residue was separated by silica gel column chromatography to obtain 4 (16.2g) as a white solid (yield: 88%). ¹H NMR (300MHz, CDCl₃) δ: 7.76 (d, J=8.5Hz, 2H), 7.51 (d, J=8.8Hz, 1H), 7.49 - 7.39 (m, 2H), 6.91 (dd, J=8.8, 3.0Hz, 1H), 6.89 - 6.83 (m, 1H), 3.81 (s, 3H).
