139 Preparation 139: 3-fluoro-2-methyl-6-nitroaniline
A solution of 1 ,3-difluoro-2-methyl-4-nitrobenzene (5 g, 28.9 mmol) in THF (100 ml_) at 20 °C was treated with conc. NH4OH (100 ml_). The mixture was stirred at RT for 16 h. The mixture was extracted with EtOAc (2 x 200 ml_). The combined organic layers were dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated. The crude material was purified by chromatography (silica, EtOAc/PE = 0-15%) to give the title compound (3 g, 61%).1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) d 8.07 (dd, 1 H), 6.46 (dd, 1 H), 6.32 (s, 2H), 2.13 (d, 3H).
