Alias: Glucosol

It is mainly extracted from crape Myrtle, which may also come from yellow tree, loquat tree, razor grass and Perilla.

Available in tablets and capsules, it is also used in hypoglycemic foods and cosmetics.
Claimed Uses: diabetes, cancer, weight loss, etc. Both lack scientific evidence.
Adverse effects of corosolic acid overdose include rash, headache, and fatigue.
Corosolic acid caused acute kidney injury and lactic acidosis in a patient with impaired renal function.
