POLYOX™ WSR 205 is a non-ionic, water-soluble poly(ethylene oxide) polymer with a molecular weight of 600,000. This versatile polymer can be used a film former, a thickener, or an emollient. POLYOX™ WSR 205 can be cast into a water-soluble film. These films can then be used to make packaging that is completely water-soluble and useful for packing pre-measured doses of hazardous chemicals like pesticides. When incorporated into creams, lotions, soaps, and shampoos POLYOX™ WSR 205 provides a soft feel and smooth application while also increasing aqueous thickening. Additionally, solutions of POLYOX™ WSR 205 have outstanding wet tack but will dry to leave a non-tacky residue. This makes it an ideal resin for tail-tie adhesives for toilet paper and paper towels.
