Yes, sodium percarbonate can be absorbed into the body through ingestion and may cause coughing, sore throat, burning sensation, and abdominal pain; reddening of the skin on contact; and reddening of the eyes, pain, and vision problems when exposed to the eyes. Sodium percarbonate human patches (skin irritation) were tested on 26 human volunteers who were exposed for 15, 30, or 60 minutes up to 2, 3, and 4 hours. only one of the 26 volunteers (4%) was considered to show a "positive" irritation response.
