Is Carbon tetrabromide a polar or nonpolar compound?
Nov 19,2024
Carbon tetrabromide (CBr4) is a non-polar molecule with the same polarity as the CO? molecule. In simple terms, both CBr4 and CO? molecules have polar bonds, but because the polar bonds are symmetrically arranged around the central carbon atom, the bond dipoles cancel each other out. Therefore, CBr4 is a non-polar molecule.
