Is 4-Butylresorcinol safe in the treatment of melasma?

4-Butylresorcinol 0.1% Cream has shown rapid efficacy and good tolerability when used in the treatment of melasma. The results of the study showed that the melanin index of 4-Butylresorcinol 0.1% Cream was significantly reduced after 4 weeks (p=0.006) and 8 weeks (p<0.0005) of application, and all the adverse effects were mild and transient. In addition, it is well tolerated by the skin, effectively inhibits tyrosinase, and can be applied not only for long term use, but also during pregnancy.
