Applications:
UV-P is a benzotriazole type UV absorber. Characterized by its strong, broad range UV absorption property, UV-P brings an excellent photostability to polymers against UV light exposure in many ways i.e. retarding color yellowing , preventing embrittlement, maintaining of mechanical properties etc.
* Styrenic polymers: 0.2-0.5wt% for PS based on polymer wt.
0.3-0.5wt% for ABS based on polymer wt.
0.5-2.0wt% for HIPS based on polymer wt.
* Polyvinyl chloride: 0.2-0.5wt% for PVC based on polymer wt.
* Polyurethane: 0.3-1.0wt% for PS based on polymer wt.
* Polyacrylate: 0.15-0.3wt% for PS based on polymer wt.
* Polycarbonate: 0.15-0.3wt% for PS based on polymer wt.
* Unsturated Polyester: 0.2-0.4wt% for PS based on polymer wt.
ADVANTAGE
* Very high photostability for its strong ability to absorb light especially in UV region(270-340nm)
* Odorless, does not bring smells to the polymers.
* Very stable to heat, and can be used in plastics which require high processing temperature.
* Low vapor pressure, very little or no loss during processing.
