該基因編碼的蛋白質(zhì)是一種G蛋白偶聯(lián)受體，具有七個跨膜結(jié)構(gòu)域，屬于β趨化因子受體家族。趨化因子及其受體是胸腺細胞在正常和炎癥條件下遷移和成熟的關(guān)鍵調(diào)節(jié)因子。該基因在小腸和結(jié)腸的T淋巴細胞中差異表達，其與趨化因子25的相互作用有助于腸上皮內(nèi)淋巴細胞歸巢到小腸。這表明該基因在引導胃腸道不同部位的免疫反應中起著重要作用。該基因及其唯一配體趨化因子25在多種惡性腫瘤中過表達，與腫瘤增殖、凋亡、侵襲、遷移和耐藥性密切相關(guān)。該基因定位于趨化因子受體基因簇。已發(fā)現(xiàn)該基因存在編碼不同異構(gòu)體的多種轉(zhuǎn)錄變體。
