描述	5-Fluoromethylornithine dihydrochloride (5-FMOrn dihydrochloride) is a selective inhibitor of L-Ornithine:2-oxoacid aminotransferase (OAT) and a specific inactivator of OAT, which can be used to study metabolic diseases and neurological diseases.
體外活性	將 L-鳥氨酸氨基甲酰轉(zhuǎn)移酶、 ODC 和 GABA-T 制劑與高達 10 mM 的 5-Fluoromethylornithine 孵育 1 小時，然后測定殘余酶活性，結(jié)果表明這些酶都沒有失活。 5-Fluoromethylornithine 是一種較差的 ODC 底物；在 10 mM 5-Fluoromethylornithine 條件下，每 mg 蛋白質(zhì)形成/h 0.04 nmol 的 1-fluoromethylputrescine 。[1]
體內(nèi)活性	在腹腔注射10毫克/千克的 5-Fluoromethylornithine 后，所有器官中的OAT活性會迅速降至基礎(chǔ)水平。5-Fluoromethylornithine 對大腦的影響與時間相關(guān)。一般情況下，在給藥后的2至24小時內(nèi)觀察到最低的OAT活性，隨后OAT活性逐漸回升。 [1]
