This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 27.5 kDa. The protein migrates as 35-41 kDa under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

半乳凝素-3（Gal-3）也稱為LGALS3、35kDa凝集素、碳水化合物結(jié)合蛋白35（CBP 35）、半乳糖特異性凝集素3、半乳糖苷結(jié)合蛋白（GALBP）、IgE結(jié)合蛋白、層粘連蛋白、Mac-2抗原、凝集素L-29。半乳凝素-3是凝集素家族的成員。LGALS3/Galectin-3在細(xì)胞核、細(xì)胞質(zhì)、線粒體、細(xì)胞表面和細(xì)胞外空間表達(dá)。LGALS3/Galectin-3已被證明參與以下生物學(xué)過程：細(xì)胞粘附、細(xì)胞活化和化學(xué)吸引、細(xì)胞生長和分化、細(xì)胞周期和凋亡。
