This protein carries a polyhistidine tag at the N-terminus.

The protein has a calculated MW of 16.7 kDa. The protein migrates as 23-27 kDa when calibrated against Star Ribbon Pre-stained Protein Marker under reducing (R) condition (SDS-PAGE) due to glycosylation.

背景（Background）

I型膠原蛋白是皮膚、骨骼和肌腱等結(jié)締組織中含量最豐富的結(jié)構(gòu)蛋白。它被合成為一種前膠原分子，其特征是一個300 nm的三螺旋結(jié)構(gòu)域，兩側(cè)是球形的N端和C端前肽。三螺旋結(jié)構(gòu)域包含Gly-Xaa-Yaa三聯(lián)體，其中Xaa和Yaa通常分別是脯氨酸和羥脯氨酸。非螺旋前肽被前膠原N-和C-蛋白酶活性去除，使成熟的三螺旋可以自組裝成膠原纖維，為組織提供抗拉強度。I型膠原蛋白是一種由兩條α1（I）鏈和一條α2（I）鏈路組成的異三聚體，盡管也有人描述了由三條相同的α1（Ⅰ）鏈組成的同源三聚體。
