人表皮生長(zhǎng)因子（EGF）也稱(chēng)為HOMG4和URG，是一種通過(guò)與其受體EGFR結(jié)合在調(diào)節(jié)細(xì)胞生長(zhǎng)、增殖和分化中起重要作用的生長(zhǎng)因子。表皮生長(zhǎng)因子存在于人類(lèi)血小板、巨噬細(xì)胞、尿液、唾液、乳汁和血漿中。EGF是EGF蛋白家族的創(chuàng)始成員。這個(gè)蛋白質(zhì)家族的成員具有高度相似的結(jié)構(gòu)和功能特征。所有家族成員都包含一個(gè)或多個(gè)保守氨基酸序列的重復(fù)。唾液EGF的生物學(xué)效應(yīng)包括口腔和胃食管潰瘍的愈合、胃酸分泌的抑制、DNA合成的刺激以及粘膜對(duì)胃酸、膽汁酸、胃蛋白酶和胰蛋白酶等管腔內(nèi)損傷因素以及物理、化學(xué)和細(xì)菌因子的保護(hù)。由于EGF增加了患癌癥的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)，抑制它可以降低癌癥的風(fēng)險(xiǎn)。
