猴痘是由猴痘病毒引起的一種罕見的人畜共患病，猴痘病毒已成為最嚴重的正痘病毒，由復雜的雙鏈DNA組成。這些病例大多發(fā)生在中非和西非。猴痘的發(fā)病機制是病毒從呼吸道粘膜侵入人體，在淋巴細胞中繁殖，并進入血液，產(chǎn)生短暫的性病毒血癥。病毒在細胞中繁殖后，細胞可以侵入血液并傳播到全身皮膚，引起病變。EV表面的包膜糖蛋白A35R被預測會影響病毒顆粒的細胞間擴散。
