Tilapia piccidin 3 is an antimicrobial peptide composed of 23 amino acids, which is a straight chain polypeptide with antibacterial activity against both Gram positive and negative bacteria (against V. vulnificus 204,...), V. Algiolyticus, S. agalactiae 819, E. faecalis BCRC 10066, S. agalactiae BCRC 10787 have MICs of 2.44, 2.44, 9.78, 19.55, and 0.61 μ g/mL. Tilapia piccidin 3 has hemolytic activity on fish red blood cells.
