Glypican-4是一種在人類中由GPC4基因編碼的蛋白質(zhì)。細(xì)胞表面硫酸乙酰肝素蛋白多糖由膜相關(guān)蛋白核心組成，核心被可變數(shù)量的硫酸乙酰肝素鏈取代。與磷脂酰肌醇相關(guān)的完整膜蛋白多糖家族的成員包含一個(gè)通過(guò)糖基磷脂酰肌醇連接錨定在細(xì)胞質(zhì)膜上的核心蛋白。這些蛋白質(zhì)可能在控制細(xì)胞分裂和生長(zhǎng)調(diào)節(jié)中發(fā)揮作用。GPC4基因與GPC3的3'端相鄰，也可能在Simpson-Golabi-Behmel綜合征中發(fā)揮作用。
