Guanylin, human is an endogenous peptide activator of intestinal guanylate cyclase. The peptide sequence contains 15 amino acids and two pairs of disulfide bonds. Guanylin, human is mainly secreted by the gastrointestinal mucosa and can regulate water and electrolyte transport in intestinal and renal epithelial cells.
