ProTx II is a selective blocking peptide of Nav1.7 sodium channel, which contains 30 amino acids in its sequence and three pairs of disulfide bonds. Its IC50 value is 0.3 nM, which affects Nav1 The selectivity of 7 is at least 100 times that of other sodium channel subtypes. ProTx-II suppresses sodium ion channels and prevents the propagation of action potentials in nociceptors by reducing channel conductivity and transferring activated voltage to more positive potentials.
