Fomrez UL-22 catalyst (dimethyltin mercaptide) is a more active analog of Fomrez UL-1 catalyst for urethane systems.

Fomrez UL-22 provides urethane manufacturers and systems suppliers with important advantages over dibutyltin dilaurate (DBTDL) for preparation of one-shot or prepolymer-type polyether-based urethane applications. Fomrez UL-22 is also an excellent catalyst for urethane coatings.

Recommendations

Fomrez UL-22 catalyst can be used at approximately one-half (1/2) the level of Fomrez UL-1 catalyst and offers considerable cost/performance advantages over dibutyltin dilaurate.

“B”” components of certain urethane foam systems that have been formulated with Fomrez UL-22 catalyst and that contain up to 0.5% water have retained activity and compatibility for periods of up to six months. This extended shelf life is important, since it enables preparation of larger batches for use over longer periods of time.
