Lactoferricin B (LfcinB) is a small molecule antimicrobial peptide containing tryptophan, produced by the hydrolysis of bovine lactoferrin (bLf) in the digestive tract by pepsin. Like other antimicrobial peptides, Lactoferricin B has broad-spectrum bactericidal activity. In addition, it may also have a variety of biological functions, such as inhibiting the proliferation of viruses and fungi, inhibiting tumor cells, and has almost no toxicity to eukaryotic cell. Based on this selective effect and lack of Antigenicity, Lactoferricin B is expected to become a new generation of antibacterial, antiviral and anti-tumor drugs.
