A thiocarboxylating reagent. Applied in preparation of unsymmetrical disulfides by successive reaction with different thiols,1,2 and synthesis of unsymmetrical trisulfides and Cyclic trisulfides.3 A reagent in peptides synthesis for the protection of cysteine residues and the later conversion to cystine derivatives.4,5 Also employed in synthesis of pure methoxycarbonylsulfenyl cyanide and methoxycarbonylsulfenyl thiocyanate by reacting with either AgCN or AgSCN,6 and synthesis of pure methoxycarbonylsulfenyl isocyanate by the metathesis reaction with AgNCO.7
