Acetamide is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of methylamine, thioacetamide, and insecticides, and as a plasticizer in leather, cloth and coatings. Acetamide has carcinogenicity. Acetamide derivatives may has antioxidant activity and potential anti-inflammatory activity. Acetamide holds promise for research in the fields of anti-inflammatory and cancer studies[1][2][3].

Acetamide (急性暴露劑量為 250、1000、2000 mg/kg；口服，每天一次，持續(xù) 2 天；亞慢性實(shí)驗(yàn)劑量為 1000 mg/kg，口服，每天一次，持續(xù) 28 天) 不會(huì)在大鼠和小鼠中誘導(dǎo)微核，也不會(huì)在大鼠 Pig-a 基因突變實(shí)驗(yàn)中增加突變率[2]。

Animal Model: Wistar (RccHan：WIST) rats and ICR (CD1) mice
Dosage: 250, 1000, 2000 mg/kg (acute exposure); 1000?mg/kg (subchronic assay)
Administration: Oral gavage (p.o.), once daily for 2 consecutive days (acute exposure); Oral gavage (p.o.), once daily for 28 days (subchronic assay)
Result: Did not induce micronucleated polychromatic erythrocytes (MN-PCE) in either mice or rats at acute (2 day) doses of 250, 1000, or 2000 mg/kg, or in rats following treatment with 1000 mg/kg/day for 28 days.
